Instead, I separate work by altitude. Different kinds of work get different rules. This lets ideas exist without demanding attention and lets focus exist without guilt.

There are periods where one outcome matters more than everything else. During those windows, pretending everything is equally important leads to distraction and stalled progress.

A focused phase dedicated to rebuilding hands on engineering fluency, strengthening fundamentals, and positioning myself for the next role. This remains the dominant constraint until my income floor is restored.

When an active bet exists, everything else yields. Identity projects stay intact, but they stop competing for attention.
